rdp.monster Freezes Its VPS and RDP Prices for All of 2027 Despite the DDR4 and DDR5 RAM Price Surge

France, 17 September 2026 — rdp.monster, the privacy-first VPS and RDP hosting provider, today announced that it will keep all of its prices unchanged for the entire year 2027. Every Windows RDP, Linux VPS and dedicated server plan will be billed in 2027 at exactly the rate published today, which is also the rate the company has charged since it opened in May 2023.
The announcement comes at a moment when the hosting industry is facing the steepest hardware cost increase in more than a decade. Memory and storage, the two components that define a VPS plan, have become dramatically more expensive in 2026, and many providers have already raised prices, cut plan specifications or introduced new fees. rdp.monster is taking the opposite path.
The commitment: 2023 prices, guaranteed through 31 December 2027
The price freeze is simple and has no fine print:
- Scope: every standard plan sold on rdp.monster — Windows RDP and Windows VPS, Linux VPS and dedicated servers.
- Duration: from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027 inclusive. Prices are also unchanged for the rest of 2026.
- Who it applies to: new customers and existing customers alike. Renewals during 2027 are billed at the same monthly, quarterly or annual rate the customer signed up for.
- Payment methods: the same price whatever the method — Bitcoin, Monero, Litecoin, Ethereum, USDT and other cryptocurrencies, PayPal, Visa and Mastercard, Capitalist and SBP. No surcharge is added for any of them.
- Fees: no setup fees, no renewal markups, no bandwidth overage charges, as has always been the case.
Concretely, the entry-level Windows RDP plan stays at $8.99 per month with 6 GB of DDR4 RAM, 2 dedicated vCPU cores, 40 GB of NVMe storage, a 1 Gbps port with unlimited bandwidth (fair-use). The Standard plan stays at $16.99 per month with 8 GB of RAM and 70 GB of NVMe, and the Advanced plan at $41.99 per month with 24 GB of RAM, 12 vCPU and 150 GB of NVMe. Linux VPS plans start at the same $8.99 per month. Quarterly billing keeps its 11% discount and annual billing still gives two months free.
Why this matters: RAM and SSD prices are rising at a record pace
The cost of a virtual server is driven by three components: memory, storage and compute. Two of them have exploded in price in 2026.
According to market research firm TrendForce, conventional DRAM contract prices rose by roughly 90% to 95% quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter of 2026, then by a further 58% to 63% in the second quarter. NAND flash, the technology inside every SSD and NVMe drive, followed the same curve with contract prices up 70% to 75% in the second quarter of 2026. TrendForce still expects DRAM to gain another 13% to 18% and NAND another 10% to 15% in the third quarter, even as consumer demand starts to cool under the weight of higher prices.
DDR4 and DDR5: the numbers behind the 2026 RAM price surge
Both memory generations are affected, for different reasons, and both matter to a VPS host: rdp.monster's current plans run on DDR4 ECC modules, and every new server generation is built on DDR5.
- Server DDR4 and DDR5 contract prices rose 53% to 58% in Q4 2025 and were forecast to rise a further 88% to 93% in Q1 2026, according to TrendForce figures reported in February 2026. The quarter actually closed with conventional DRAM contract prices up 93% to 98% (TrendForce, June 2026).
- DDR4 is the generation being phased out: the major manufacturers announced in 2025 that their legacy DDR4 lines would reach end-of-life to free capacity for DDR5 and HBM. TrendForce measured DDR4 4Gb prices up more than 20% in March 2026 alone, described a "severe shortage" of DDR4 chips in June that pushed some buyers back to DDR3, and the DDR4 8Gb spot price hit a record $42.50 per chip on 10 August 2026, up about 276% since November 2025 (DRAMeXchange data via Capital & Compute).
- DDR5 is no escape route: it is exactly what AI data centers are buying. A 64 GB DDR5-5600 kit that cost $191 in August 2025 cost $1,118 in August 2026, a 485% increase in twelve months (Tom's Hardware RAM price index). In September 2026 DDR5 averages around $13 to $17.50 per GB against about $7.80 per GB for DDR4.
For a hosting provider the arithmetic is simple: the 6 GB of DDR4 in an entry-level rdp.monster plan costs several times more to provision today than it did in 2023, and moving that plan to DDR5 would roughly double the memory cost per GB on top of that. Whichever generation a host builds on, memory costs several times what it did a year ago, and NVMe storage has followed the same curve.
The cause is structural rather than seasonal. Artificial intelligence data centers are absorbing an unprecedented share of the world's memory output, hyperscalers are locking up supply with multi-year agreements, and manufacturers are prioritising high-bandwidth memory for AI accelerators over the standard DDR4 and DDR5 modules that servers use. SK Hynix has publicly warned that the shortage could last beyond 2030, and analysts at IDC describe the situation as a global memory shortage crisis affecting servers, PCs and smartphones alike.
For a hosting company, this translates directly into the price of every new node: a server that cost a given amount to build in 2024 costs substantially more to build with the same 2026 memory and NVMe configuration. This is why price increases, smaller plans and "resource fees" have started to appear across the market.
Other hosting providers have already raised their prices
The two largest European hosts have both passed the increase on to their customers in 2026, and both cite memory costs as the reason.
- OVHcloud announced on 5 March 2026 a price revision effective 1 April 2026: VPS plans up 44% to 122% depending on the tier (the entry VPS went from $4.90 to $7.60 per month), Public Cloud up 9% to 11% and higher RAM options on bare metal. OVHcloud expects RAM prices to be 250% to 300% higher at the end of 2026 than in September 2025, and a second wave on dedicated servers from September 2026, up to 87% on the Game range.
- Hetzner raised its prices twice in 2026: up to 37% on 1 April on cloud and dedicated servers, citing "drastic" component price increases, then a second adjustment on 15 June 2026 in which some dedicated-vCPU cloud plans more than doubled and RAM customisation options were cut back.
Smaller providers are following the same path, or silently shrinking plan specifications at the same price. rdp.monster is choosing to do neither.
Why rdp.monster can hold its prices
rdp.monster has chosen to absorb this cost increase rather than pass it on to customers, for three reasons.
Automation keeps the operation lean. Orders are provisioned automatically about 10 seconds after the payment confirms, sign-up needs only an email address, and there is no identity-verification department, no sales team and no advertising budget to fund. Those savings go into the price.
Capacity is planned over multi-year cycles. Nodes are added on a planned schedule rather than bought at spot prices when demand spikes, which smooths the impact of a bad year for component pricing.
Price stability is part of the product. rdp.monster has never applied a renewal markup: the price on the card at sign-up is the price paid every month for the life of the subscription. Freezing list prices for 2027 simply extends that policy to new customers who have not signed up yet.

What the freeze means for customers and resellers
- Current customers do not need to do anything. Their subscriptions renew at the same price throughout 2027.
- New customers can order at any point in 2027 at today's published prices and, once subscribed, keep that price for as long as the subscription runs.
- Resellers and affiliates can build 2027 price lists on a stable base. The affiliate program continues to pay recurring commissions on every renewal, and the reseller program keeps the same wholesale conditions.
- Traders, developers and automation users running MetaTrader, bots, scrapers or remote workstations can budget an entire year without a price line moving.
Promotional codes, quarterly and annual billing discounts and affiliate vouchers all continue to apply on top of the frozen list prices. Prices are published in US dollars; amounts shown in other currencies follow the exchange rate at the time of payment.
